Two Capricorn Racing Club members Jurie Meyer Jr. and Brian Baragwanath returned home after three races in the US recently. Their second race was at Pleasure Valley Raceway on July 3 and 4. Baragwanath took a 14th overall in the pro class and Meyer a second overall in the pro A class and a 13th overall in the pro AM class. Their last race was at Hurricane Hills in Pennsylvania on July 10 and 11. Baragwanath, again participating in the pro class, had bad luck and only managed to finish 13th after falling. He also competed in the pro AM class, but one of the riders bumped into him and he ended 11th overall. Meyer also competed in the pro AM class and came 10th overall. He managed a second place in the pro A class. Meyer says this was his first trip to the US for racing and he enjoyed it a lot since he didn’t experience any problems with his bike. Baragwanath says he experienced engine problems but had it fixed for his second race. "It was an excellent experience and I enjoyed all three races." Rita Janse van Vuuren
