Fitting set of hydraulics for these trucks

Mr Chris van der Walt stands by a few hydraulic systems in Limpopo Hydraulics’ workshop in Koper Street, Laboria, Polokwane.

Limpopo Hydraulics in Polokwane has secured an order from BB Truck & Tractor to supply hydraulic systems to suite interlink side tipping hydraulic facilities on the UD460 Nissan trucks.
Mr Chris van der Walt, owner of Limpopo Hydraulics, says they have already completed six trucks, all from BB Truck & Tractor, with hydraulic systems.

The other partner in the business is his son-in-law, Mr Gideon van Breda.
Van der Walt says they were challenged by limited time from the onset, but finished the first systems in record time.
A big transport company from Musina has replaced its whole fleet of 60 heavy vehicles from BB Truck & Tractor the local Nissan Diesel dealer. All these vehicles must be fitted with the systems by the end of the year.
The hydraulic systems will enable the trucks to do side tipping.
Van der Walt explains they assemble all systems beforehand and only SABS quality products are used. Every component is thoroughly tested before they are satisfied.
Limpopo Hydraulics has been in existence for six years and in this time it enjoyed good growth.
Van der Walt worked in the telecommunications industry for 32 years. When he was offered a severance package, he took it. "It was at a stage in my life when I had to look forward. However, I realised this was not the end of the world.
"When you come at this stage of your life, reflect for a while about the skills you have acquired over the years.
"I decided to build this business from scratch and qualified myself as a hydraulic mechanic and businessman."
Van Breda also has a deep insight into hydraulics and together they are able to face any challenge.
