Coupons help feed kids PDF Print E-mail

In February Child Welfare Polokwane announced the launch of food coupons which can be bought in books of five coupons.
The idea behind this was to get people to give street children and the homeless a food coupon instead of risking money being wasted and not spent on food.

The initiative was launched 10 years ago and the re-launch in February is due to the fact that the street children's sniffing of glue is getting out of hand. Loretta Bosch from Child Welfare says since the re-launch the positive impact made by the coupons is easily seen.
"A group of seven friends from the street have realised where to stand to get food coupons and they come in all at once to eat," says Bosch.
The books retail for R25 each and contain five coupons worth a plate of food.
She further explained that the sale of these food coupon books decreased during the soccer world cup and humbly asks the community of Polokwane to once again open their hearts to the street children of the city and give a plate of food for a hungry stomach.
Contact Child Welfare in Polokwane at (015) 297 3326/7 or visit their offices at 42A Jorrissen Street to get your hands on some coupon books.
