Former Limpopo Premier and provincial premier elect for the Congress of the People (Cope), Mr Sello Moloto, has accused the ANC in Limpopo for not respecting funerals and other events in the province. But ANC provincial spokesperson, Mr Ishmael Kgetjepe, dismissed Moloto’s claims saying that he should complain to the IEC if Cope has a case against the ANC. Moloto reiterated: “I was simply saying that funerals, weddings and other events should not be used for political platforms. The ANC must refrain from using those gatherings to woo votes. They must respect funerals and other gatherings. Those gatherings are attended by the public from different political parties and the ANC must not abuse such political platforms.” He also alleged that the ANC is supplying alcohol to the youth who later disrupt the political gatherings of other organisations. “We find this behaviour unacceptable. The youth is losing its valuable time and I don’t think that the ANC will continue to buy them liquor after the elections.” - Mpho Dube
